Who is Your Service Provider?

Because of a recent move, I had to sign up with a new internet provider. I wanted to know what I was getting into, so I did a little research on available offers. I found one that seemed to fit my need, and they promised fast speeds and a good connection. Sadly, what I ended up with was merely disappointment. After the technician came and hooked up my new internet, I discovered that my internet speed was not even close to what it should have been. This didn’t seem right, and after asking about it, I was informed that the speed that I had been promised before signing up was not even possible through their network. And when I began to question the technician about the speeds that I had expected, he began to say everything he could think of to try to make the package that I had purchased sound better than it really was.

The Promises of the World

The world will promise you a lot of things, but when it comes down to delivering, it will always fall short. The world will make promises about happiness, money, relationships, excitement, and many other things. But no matter what promises it makes, it can only ever repeat the lie that it has been told. The world can only copy the line that the devil has already sold to it. He is the father of lies, which means he is the king of false advertising. He has the power to make things look inviting, but he does not have the power to give true peace, joy, or love—because these things are only gained through the Spirit of God.

Romans 8:5 says “For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.” This means that if you want to experience the fruits of the Spirit, you must first be filled with the Spirit. Too many people are looking to receive the fruit through another service provider.

It’s Not Too Late to Switch

A few days later, I received a flier in the mail from another internet service, and they were notifying me that they not only had better service, but that I was going to get it at a better price too. If there’s one point they wanted to leave me with it was this: it’s not too late to switch. If you have been following the draws of the world, and you feel like it’s too late to change your direction, you need to know that it’s not too late. What God promises, He will always deliver, and the best part about His service is that the price has already been paid. With His own life, Jesus paid the price for you and I to enter into His rest. He offered us the greatest service—service that never fails, never falls short, and never disappoints.

Romans 10:10-11 says “for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. For the Scripture says, ‘WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED.’ ”

His Love is Everlasting

Though we’ve read about the love of God, some of us are still running. You might be living day-to-day under the belief that God doesn’t want you, but that is a lie. You might think that you’ve been associated with another provider for too long and that it’s too late to switch, but that is a lie. The Truth is that God the Father is ready to run to you with open arms. It’s time to stop believing what the world has offered you, and it’s time to trust the only One who can truly live up to His promises. God has a purpose for you that involves the work of the kingdom. He has a divine plan for you that starts right now. You might think that the list is too long—that there are too many things standing between you and God. Take that list, the failures, the rebellion, and the unbelief and hand it to Jesus. When He covers you with His blood, you are covered. That means that you take on His righteousness no matter what your past looks like. When the Father runs to you, He is not running because you’ve done everything right. He is running because He sees you through the sacrifice of His perfect Son.

Paul sums up the list for us in Romans 8:38-39. It says, “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

If you are a Christian and you’ve been running, then it’s time to come back. If you’re not a Christian, but you’re done with the empty promises of the world, then it’s time to make the switch. It’s time to believe the promise of God—that His love is everlasting.
